HEUSNER ELEMENTARY MUSIC

Welcome!  I am excited to be the new music teacher at Heusner Elementary.

I have been a music teacher for 18 years.  I attended the University of Northern Colorado as a music education major and then taught band for 9 years in Colby, Kansas.  I then attended K-State  where I received my master's of music education degree.  

I have always loved music.  I remember spending time at my grandmother's house and she always had music playing on her record player while she sang along.  I loved listening to her sing.  She would take me with her on Sunday afternoons to the local nursing home where she would play her accordion and sing for the people there.  She passed her passion for music on to me.  

I am thoroughly enjoying working with the students here at Heusner Elementary where we learn music through movement, singing, playing and speaking.  We have been able to explore our voices, play on instruments and move to a variety of sounds.  I believe music brings JOY to our lives.
